Archery
Archery, the art of using a bow to shoot arrows at a target, is one of the oldest precision sports still practiced today. Here at Shannon River Adventure, we use traditional long bows and straw targets set on tripods. Our archery areas are open and spacious, with a covered waiting area and the arrows used have flat blunt ends, thus ensuring total safety, so you can build your skills in a safe comfortable environment.
With the help of our trained instructors, archery can be a fun and competitive activity. Along with basic target practise, we introduce games, including burst the balloon, to ensure a challenging and fun experience. Learn how to shoot a bow correctly and accurately, learn about stance and positioning. Thus, while also learning a new skill, archery can improve hand/eye coordination and motor/muscle memory.
Archery is not a stand alone activity and should be paired with at least one other activity. It is included as part of our multi-activity sessions for : teambuilding, school tours and transition year outings, adventure camps, birthday parties.
